Dr. Joy works with ages 0-18 to provide child, teen and family therapy that focuses on emotional regulation and holistic wellness. She develops connections with children and teens with ease to support their development while collaborating with parents.

Dr. Joy specializes in the following areas: trauma, toxic stress, loss, adoption, anxiety, emotional outbursts, anxiety, depression, attention difficulties, learning differences, IEP support, developmental delays, neurodevelopmental concerns, social difficulties, impact of high stress, loss, family conflict, and co-parenting.

She uses relational and developmental theoretical orientations including Interpersonal Neurobiology and attachment theory.

Dr. Joy believes that the challenges and suffering we face in life also offer important  opportunities for healing and growth.  She consistently sees the benefit of psychotherapy in her own personal practice and in her work with clients as a powerful tool for self-care and transformation. 

Dr. Joy specializes in working with adults who experienced childhood trauma and stress. In this work, she focuses on building a strong therapist-client alliance and creating a sense of safety in every session. Working with each client to support individual needs, Dr. Joy provides tailored coping strategies designed to strengthen the mind-body connection. She also uses her extensive knowledge of neuroscience with clients to highlight how stress affects our nervous system, thus enabling clients to identify their own stress triggers and better manage them in everyday life.

Additionally, Dr. Joy honors the specific challenges facing women. She is committed to providing support for new moms and women throughout the life cycle.
